Football Development for boys and girls Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre A.F.C. - FA Charter Standard Club. County and Regional Charter Standard Club of the Year 2004. All our coaches have current FA Coaching certificates , First Aid Training and have been CRB checked. BOYS The Boys Development section was set up some 4 – 5 years ago by Bernie Borsberry and Peter Robinson in order to ensure sustainability of the football club. Initially boys or girls aged 6 – 7 years old came along and were developed not only in playing football but also confidence building, teamwork and generally socialising with other young people with a similar interest. As popularity grew we widened participation to 5 year olds and lately have had requests from 4 year olds. Some of the boys have been with us for over 4 years and are now playing competitive football for Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre AFC. It has been a pleasure to watch these young people develop. We pride ourselves on accepting anyone regardless of ability, unlike some clubs who turn people away if they do not meet the standard expected. We hold regular tournaments with prizes of Easter Eggs, Selection Boxes and Sweets ensuring that the groups are mixed in age and ability. ( see Christmas Tournament 2006 ) To date four new teams have started and also two girls teams and we go from strength to strength. We are always looking for people to help with the Coaching and organising so get in touch if you feel you have something to offer. Anyone wanting to attend the Development training should contact us for details of the days and times of sessions. Please contact P. Robinson or B. Borsberry for more details. contacts .................................................................................................................... GIRLS The girls section is based around the 11 girls squad competing in the Russel Foster Mini Soccer league. However training alongside are a group of 11 & 12 year old girls preparing for competitive soccer next season. The football club is committed to growing the girls section and expanding the number of teams competing each season. Football starts at 9 year old as an under 10 age group and progresses through under 12, under 14 and under 16 age groups. Girls Football is now well structured and offers exciting opportunities for the talented footballer as well as the keenest of footballers to compete at an appropriate level to their ability. Please contact the Club Chairman or Club Secretary for more details. contacts .................................................................................................................... |
