The Development section was set up some 7 – 8 years ago by Berni Borsberry and Peter Robinson in order to ensure the sustainability of the football club.
We take Boys and Girls from the age of 4 – 7 years old.
All our coaches have current FA Coaching Certificates, First Aid Training and have been CRB checked.
The emphasis is on Development not only of Football skills but also confidence building, teamwork and generally socialising with other young people with a similar interest. The popularity of the development section has meant that we have produced teams representing the Club at all ages up to Under 18.
Some of the children have been with us for a number of years and are now playing competitive football for Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre AFC. It has been a pleasure to watch these young people develop. We pride ourselves on accepting anyone regardless of ability and as a result the club has gone from strength to strength.
We currently have representatives at Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Newcastle Academy’s.
We are always looking for people to help with the Coaching and organising so get in touch if you feel you have something to offer. We have supported Parents with Coaching Qualifications and encourage them to attend meetings as Parent Representatives enabling them to take a full and active part in the club.
As from November 2nd 2011 training will take place on Wednesday nights from 6.00pm to 7.00pm indoors at Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre
